We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a mechanical background and be adept at diagnosing and repairing various types of heavy machinery & diesel engines. This role is crucial for ensuring that our equipment operates efficiently and safely, contributing to the overall productivity of our operations.

Duties

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including tractors, forklifts, cranes, and other machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Conduct tire services, replacements and patch up.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and minimize downtime.
• Operate heavy equipment as needed for testing purposes or during repairs.
• Maintains a safe work area in compliance with OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Must be able to complete daily timesheet paperwork.

Skills

• Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair and vehicle maintenance.
• Hydraulics systems, cylinders repacking and troubleshooting knowledge.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including tractor-trailers and cranes.
• Basic 12v/24v electrical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Diesel & Gas engines troubleshooting and repair knowledge. 
• 5+ years’ experience in the heavy-duty mechanical field.
• Understand information from operating, maintenance, and service manuals, as well as utilizing computer diagnostics.
• Perform replacement of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
